Champions Ball 2012

This past week end Chris & I went to New Orleans. Back in August, Chris won a trip to New Orleans at his job. It's called the Champions Ball Region 6 courtesy of Anheuser Busch. Chris works for Silver Eagle distributors...yes my hubby is the beer man! Go out and get a Bud Light and support my hubby! Winners from each plant and their spouses in Region 6 attended the trip. It was a blast! We met lots of people from within Chris' region. The trip was at perfect timing too..it was the week end of our 1 year wedding anniversary. Although it was VERY hard for me to want to leave our baby since I am with her all day long everyday. This trip was a fun getaway for us to have, plus Maci got to spend some quality time with Grandpa and Nana. It also was nice for Chris's hard work to be recognize for all his hard work! Good job babe :)

We flew in and got there early Friday afternoon and were picked up by a party bus with ice cold beers waiting and taken to our hotel in a party bus.

This was waiting for us in our room

We then check in and freshened up in our beautiful room that overlooked Bourbon Street.

If you are ever in New Orleans and your looking for a place to stay booked your stay at the Royal Sonesta! Beautiful Hotel and right in the heart of the French Quarter.

We had a couple hours to spare before our night time plans we had so we decided to grab a drink and see
some stores on Canal Street

Me and Chris with our Hand Grenades

Later on that night there was a reception for cocktails and snacks and then we were headed on to the riverboat for  private party, which included dinner and casino night. It was a lot of fun and lots of cool prizes were there for you to win. We didn't win anything but man were we so close.

Later that night we came back and hit up Bourbon Street for a little while since it was right outside our hotel.

Parades are always going on...here is one outside our balcony

We woke up the next morning and ate a delicious breakfast down in one of the ball rooms New Orleans Style...so that means there were cajun potatoes and beignets involved  If you have never had a beignet please do when you go to New Orleans.
I promise you wont be disappointed!
Saturday, we had the whole afternoon as our leisure time. We decided to go walk on multiple streets and explore the other street surrounding Bourbon.

We took a tour of the 1850 house which was pretty neat. It was how homes looked like in 1850 and history on the first 3 families that lived there.

New Orleans Street Fun

We also went inside the St. Louis Cathedral which was BEAUTIFUL!

If Chris & I loved in New Orleans we would so want to get married there.

We then wrapped up the afternoon with a pretty late lunch at Pat O' Brien's and had to have our selves a Hurricane!

It only being 2 1/2 months since I was pregnant you bet your bottom dollar I didn't need a whole lots to feel tipsy lol. We headed back to the room and got ready for the night because Saturday night the Champions Ball had reserved a private patio/balcony party on Bourbon just for Chris's job. We had a cocktail reception an hour before departure so we headed down and socialized then in true New Orleans style a 10 person band came to leads us in a parade to our private party on Bourbon  We arrived to the party and had lots of fun. There was a DJ there and we had a couple of the New Orleans Saint Cheerleaders do a performance for Silver Eagle. We hung out there the rest of the night.

Blurry but hey who cares...

It was so much fun and I'm so happy that my first time going to New Orleans
Bourbon Street was an experience!

We DID miss our baby and we aren't going to lie..throughout the days we would find ourselves talking about here on looking at her recent pictures! We see here everyday so those 2 1/2 days were a little different but she was in good hands and such a good baby while we were gone, but hey whats new!  We got here some goodies while we were there too!
Here's one of them
We left for home Sunday afternoon right when the Texans were Playing Baltimore...yes Chris was so not wanting to miss that game but I cant blame him..We ended up winning and that was the icing on top of the cake to our week end.
It was so nice coming home to our sweet girl!
That night we unpacked and got back into our routine with our little one. She was all smiles & so vocal Sunday night we could tell she was so happy to see her mommy and daddy! I will always remember that weekend. The week end before our One year. What a great way to spend it that's for sure.

**Cant wait to share my next post about our 1 year wedding anniversary! We got to spend it with our beautiful baby girl! Stay tuned :)
