Earlier this month we went to Pittsburgh to visit both Chris & my family. When I first met Chris we both discovered that our families were from Pittsburgh, PA. My dad is from there and so is Chris's dad and mom. When our parents were little they lived 15 minutes away from each other and didn't know it. Talk about a small world! Till this day our grandmothers still live the same 15 minutes away from each other. My aunt and his aunt actually have worked at the University of Pittsburgh for a long time and knew of each other with out knowing we were dating each other...how funny. Anyways, every year we make a trip up their to see ALL of our family and with Maci becoming apart of our family it was a must to bring her up there. I mean how awesome is that..we kill two birds with one stone right. Go to one places to see a good chunk of our families who live so close to each other! My dad comes from a very big family and not everyone can make it down before Maci's first year. We spent a week there and split the time with our families. It was pretty darn cold up there...sort of missed the Texas weather! We had such a fun time.
The first part of the trip after we got delayed in Chicago for 6 hours (but Maci was seriously so Awesome.. was spent with Chris' side (His mom's side)
We had a great time with his grandma (Maci's Great Grandma) and his Aunts, & Uncles, & Cousins. We saw snow, took lots of pics went shopping, enjoyed time with family and good home cooked meals :)
The second part was spent with my side(dad's side) The first night we layed low and Maci enjoyed playing with her little cousin Matthew. I swear these two are the cutest together. Matthew loved Maci and Maci clearly loved Matthew. The next day we went to the Strip district in downtown which I am very familiar with. I wanted to get some Pittsburgh gear for us and St. Patty's day stuff as well. we bundled miss Maci up and headed out with my Cousins. We shopped and ate lunch down there at Primanti Bros. which is a Pittsburgh Favorite! Later that evening Chris and I went out with one of my cousins for some fun ...baby free! My sweet Aunt, Uncle, & Matthew watched Maci and she did great with them. The next day we headed to church and we had all of my Aunt, Uncles, Grandma, & cousins over for a family hang out. Everyone got to meet M and we had such fun hanging out. I love big families and its so fun to be everyone. I enjoy the loud & running around fun that comes with big families. The next day we spent time with grandma (Maci's GG) and then we headed to my other Aunt's house to spend time with them before we headed home the next day. Here are pictures with the Morrin side :)
All in all, we had a great time. Maci got her first snow, we got to spend time with family, & everyone got to meet our girl. Successful trip I must say.
Till next time Pittsburgh :)
Go Steelers!
